Texas Longhorns Information
The University of Texas Longhorns compete in the Division 1 NCAA Big 12 conference. The schools 18 varsity programs along with their supporting fan base wear orange and white and stand behind mascots Bevo & Hook 'em. Their most recognizable playing-fields include Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, Frank Erwin Center, and Disch-Falk Field.
One of the most memorable moments for the Longhorn athletic department was when the program ranked #1 on Sports Illustrated’s "America's Best Sports College" in 2002. Texas is best known for their football and basketball teams. The football program since starting up in 1893 has won a total of four National titles with a post-season bowl record of 25-21-2. Men's basketball has made 27 NCAA tournament appearances and three Final Four showings in 1943, 1947 and 2003.
