Scissor Sisters Information
The Scissor Sisters, the disco influenced glam rock/pop band out of NYC is making headlines worldwide with their most recent release of the album, Ta Dah! Their music, although not as popular in the US music charts as they are in the UK and Ireland, is worshiped by fans worldwide. They're most commonly known for two singles, "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" off of their self titled debut album, and their disco/glam cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb". The songs have been popular track choices for DJ's in the underground music scene. Although the band is heavily influenced by bands like the Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, Duran Duran, Supertramp and David Bowie; the Scissor Sisters create and perform their music with an atmospheric poise that has even gathered the likings of legendary musicians like Elton John, who collaborated with the band on "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" as a pianist and co-writer.
Their first album was the biggest selling album in the UK in 2004. As of 2006, the self titled album was the 10th biggest selling album of the 21st century in the UK and the 51st biggest selling album of all time in the UK. With only moderate sales in the US with both their first and second album, the band is hoping to win the favor of their homestead fans with their latest release, Ta Dah! The album is a little different than their first that features a combo of sixties-era "psychedelia", glam rock and disco.
