Santana Information

After over forty years of dipping his feet into the many different genres of the music industry, Carlos Santana is more than a guitar virtuoso; he is an American music legend. As the recipient of the Billboard Latin Music Awards’ 2009 Lifetime Achievement honor, Santana gives no suggestion that he’s anywhere near the finish line of his career.

Currently working on a collective performance of songs called Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits to reflect upon the last four decades of his career, Santana has played this show a total of 72 times over a two-year span throughout 2009 and 2010, concluding the project with a two-month tour featuring Steve Winwood beginning June 30th. Following an East Coast tour and a final wrap-up of the one-venue Supernatural Santana tour at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, Carlos Santana will then start a two-month stint touring in Europe in the fall. His East Coast tour will appear at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on July 23rd.

Among many other honors throughout his lifetime, Carlos Santana has been cited by Rolling Stone as #15 on their list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time," and #90 on their 2005 survey of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time." He also commemorated the 10th Anniversary of Supernatural with a re-release, Supernatural (Legacy Edition), featuring outtakes and unreleased material from the original recording sessions. This album follows up 2007's Ultimate Santana, the only single-disc collection uniting hits from the group's recent albums for Arista and classics from their Columbia years.
