Pat Benatar Information

Pat Benatar was the ‘80s poster girl for rock and roll, inspiring girls of all ages through songs concerning rebellion, empowerment and feminism. Her hit singles, most notably “Love Is a Battlefield”, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, “We Belong” and “Heartbreaker” became anthems of the decade. One of the most heavily played artists in the early days of MTV, Benatar had two RIAA-certified Multi-Platinum albums, five RIAA-certified Platinum albums, three RIAA-certified Gold albums and 19 Top 40 singles during the ‘80s. Benatar has been married to her lead guitarist band member Neil Giraldo since 1982 and continues to make music with him along with maintaining a family.

In 2009, Benatar teamed up with Blondie for the "Call Me Invincible" tour after an eight year hiatus. Benatar is currently tour with REO Speedwagon this summer. This past June, Benatar's memoir, Between a Heart and a Rock Place was released, touching upon her battles with her record company Chrysalis, and the difficulties her career caused in her personal life. After initial reluctance to do the project, the process was so enjoyable for her that she plans follow up the memoir with a self-written novel. Benatar will be at the Bank of America Pavilion August 29th with fellow ‘70s rockers REO Speedwagon.
