Florida Panthers Information

The Panthers were founded as an NHL expansion team in 1993. They compete in the Southeast division of the Eastern Conference. They did surprisingly well in their first year, missing the playoffs by just one point. Two years later they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, only to be swept by the Colorado Avalanche. They have missed the playoffs every year since the 2000-01 season. The Panthers have been one of the least successful teams in League history. The team holds the eight-worst record in NHL history having made the playoffs only 4 times in their 18 seasons. In 2012 they advanced to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in 12 years. Unfortunately the Panthers were eliminated by the New Jersey Devils in 7 games.
