Dropkick Murphys Information

In 1996, The Dropkick Murphys formed, creating a new sound in the Boston music scene. Their unique, Irish-inspired music attracts large hometown crowds in and around the Boston-area. Their hit song, "Tessie," helped spark the Fenway Faithful to come alive in October of 2004 and became the Boston Red Sox official anthem en route to their historic 2004 World Series victory.

Their hit song "Shipping Up To Boston" has become Boston's unofficial city fight song, and chances are it will be played at just about every Boston sporting event for the rest of eternity. Even before the band reached local celebrity status, the Dropkick Murphys began a tradition of playing a handful of Boston shows on and around St. Patrick's Day, a nod to their Irish roots. The band has held true to their St. Patrick's Day tradition even as they have gained popularity.
