Daryl Hall Information

Singer Daryl Hall is a multi-faceted American singer and musician famous for being the lead singer of Hall & Oates. A member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame since 2004, he has seven albums, 11 #1 hits on the Billboard charts, and has written 19 songs that have reached the top 10 on the Billboard charts.

Hall & Oates are the most successful duo in history. Their first meeting took an interesting turn when they were both at a band competition, with separate bands, and gunfire broke out. On an elevator trying to make an escape, they ran into each other and started a friendship. The band got its official start in 1970. With six albums, they have produced hit songs like, “Rich Girl,” “Kiss On My List,” and “Private Eyes.” They toured consistently throughout the 1970s and 80s, but Hall continued with his solo work as well.

Hall has written and collaborated with the likes of Robert Fripp, Diana Ross, and Dave Stewart. He performed on “We Are The World” for the Live Aid show and has performed at the music festivals South By Southwest and Bonnaroo. In 2007, he started a web television series, Live From Daryl’s House, on which he hosts and performs.

In February 2012, he announced he is taking his show on the road. The show kicks off in New Jersey on April 11 and will continue on to Boston, Atlantic City, Minneapolis, Washington, DC, and New York City.
