Dallas Stars Information

Founded as the Minnesota North Stars in 1967, the team moved to Dallas in 1993 and simply became the Stars. They play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The Stars won their first and only Stanley Cup in the 1998-99 season. After a streak of playoff appearances, Dallas was unable to advance in 2009 with a 36-35-11 regular season record.

In the 2009-10 season, the Stars finished last in a fairly close division race with a 37-31-14 record. In 2011, the Stars improved their record to 45-29-11, but failed to make it to the playoffs. After missing the playoffs for three consecutive seasons, Dallas fired coach Crawford and replaced him with Glen Gulutzan. This did not do much good, however. The team failed to qualify for the postseason for a fourth straight year.
