Dallas Mavericks Information

The Dallas Mavericks are members of the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. The team was founded in 1980 and have since won three Division titles in 1987, 2007 and 2010, two Conference championships in 2006 and 2011 and one NBA Championship in 2011. According to Forbes Magazine, the team is the fourth-most valuable basketball franchise in the United States as of 2012. The Mavs are valued at approximately $497 million and surpassed only by the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.

In the 2010-11 season, the Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat 4-2 to win the NBA finals. This was the teams first NBA Championship victory since their creation. They attempted to win back-to-back NBA Finals by making it to the playoffs with a regular season 36-30 record. They were eliminated in the first round, however, by a sweep against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This year the team is attempting to make a come-back with a roster of Josh Akognon, Rodrigue Beaubois, Elton Brand, Vince Carter, Darren Collison, Jae Crowder, Jared Cunningham, Bernard James, Dahntay Jones, Dominique Jones, Chris Kaman, Shawn Marion, O.J. Mayo, Dirk Nowitzki, Delonte West and Brandan Wright.
